This block offered a wide array of options. It allowed clients to pick which of the four sides of the main content panel the thumbnails would appear. With settings, clients could control which content elements (summaries, comment counts, related links, bylines, etc.) would appear. Settings controlled whether clicking a thumbnail would force its panel to show, or whether it would go to the article.
The block had to work with various asset types (articles, links, pdfs, videos to name a few), and the main content panel would automatically adjust its layout based on available images. If an image was bigger than the box, it would show as a background. If it was smaller than the main panel, then it would show the attached image inside the content panel with the headline and other content items beside it.
The block also allowed clients to insert image ads among the content items, giving clients control over where in the order the ads would appear.
